THERE IS STILL TIME TO GET FLU VACCINE PROTECTION FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY BEFORE FLU SEASON STRIKES.  THE CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL (CDC) HAS WARNED THAT THERE ARE SOME NOVEL FLU STRAINS THAT ARE NOT ADEQUATELY COVERED BY THIS YEAR'S FLU VACCINE. HOWEVER, FLU VACCINATION WILL LIKELY LESSEN THE SEVERITY OF ILLNESS EVEN FROM THIS STRAIN OF NOVEL VIRUS. FLU VACCINE IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT IN THE VERY YOUNG, THE ELDERLY, PREGNANT WOMEN, PEOPLE WHO ARE IMMUNE COMPROMISED, AND PEOPLE WITH CHRONIC MEDICAL CONDITIONS. THE CDC FURTHER RECOMMENDS THAT IF ANYONE IN THIS GROUP AT HIGH RISK FOR COMPLICATIONS FROM THE FLU BECOMES ILL WITH FLU-LIKE SYMPTOMS (FEVER, HEADACHE, MUSCLE ACHES, RESPIRATORY SYMPTOMS, ETC.), THEY SHOULD SEEK EARLY MEDICAL CARE FROM THEIR PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIANS TO LESSEN THE RISK OF COMPLICATIONS EVEN FURTHER. PREVENTION IS KEY TO GOOD HEALTH.  IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR HEALTH CARE PROVIDER.
