Girls Volleyball Raises Money For Childhood Cancer Awareness

Last week, our girls' volleyball program hosted its annual Fight for Gold event and varsity match to raise money for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

More than $5,000 was raised, with proceeds benefiting Dylan's Defenders, an organization named in memory of 2024 Canandaigua Academy graduate Dylan Smith. As part of our special pre-match ceremony, we also celebrated one of our students and varsity volleyball team members, Bri Leitten, who is now in her 11th year of remission.

Thank you to the Smith family, our faculty and staff, the community members who showed their support, and the visiting Avon volleyball team for participating in the pre-match ceremony alongside us.
