Welcome
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Donna Bird and I am the 6th grade math teacher. This will be my 12th year teaching at Bloomfield! I began my teaching career at Bloomfield teaching 5th grade. After 7 years at 5th grade, I moved to 4th grade and taught that for 3 years. I have now moved to the Middle School and this is my second year teaching math! It is an exciting, new challenge for me.
I was born and raised in the town of Strasburg, Pennsylvania. This is a small town south of Lancaster, PA. I received my BS degree from Slippery Rock University and my Master's degree from Brockport University.
Before moving to New York I taught in a small Lutheran School outside of Pittsburgh PA for 14 years. Over my 14 years, I taught a variety of grade levels- from 2nd- 8th grade! It was a great experience.
Most of my family continues to live in eastern Pennsylvania, I return home as often as possible. I have 3 sisters, 2 living in eastern PA and one in Tennessee. I have 6 nieces and nephews and 3 great nieces!
In my spare time I enjoy reading, traveling, and playing the piano.
