Welcome to Bloomfield Central School District’s Food Service Department Information Hub!

Bloomfield Central School District is a CEP qualified school for the 2025-2026 school year. What this means is all students enrolled at BCS are eligible to receive one FREE Reimbursable Breakfast and one FREE Reimbursable Lunch per school day.

Starting the 25-26 school year, menus will no longer be printed and sent home with students. The menus be available on this site, and parent square exclusively.

Please navigate the links in this section for important information relevant to the meal programs we offer. Thank you for your support!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our School Lunch Manager, Jodi Ferguson, at 585-657-6121 ext. 1151.

In both the MHS and the Elementary cafeterias, we sell a la carte items (snacks, chips, ice cream, extra meals and items not considered under the reimbursable meal).

Milk bought when a child brings lunch is also considered a la carte.

All of these items meet the USDA criteria for healthy snacks. If you do not want your student to purchase extras or if you would like to control when they purchase them, please contact the School Lunch Manager so that a “block” with instructions for the staff can be added to the student's account. If your student would like/is allowed to purchase a la carte items, they will need to have money on their account or have payment at the time of purchasing. A la carte items cannot be charged to be paid at another time.

We accept cash*, or check (made out to BCS Lunch Fund) at any of our school’s cafeteria registers, mailed to the School Lunch Manager, or brought into the main offices of either building. Please make sure that the payment contains the following information: Student's full name, ID number (if known), and grade/teacher. We also offer our online payment system, MySchoolBucks. Links under the Food Service tab explain the MySchoolBucks system and provide the direct link to the MySchoolBucks website.

*Please keep in mind that we do not give change back to students when they give us money to purchase items. Any excess change will be applied to the student’s account.

A reimbursable meal is a single priced meal unit that offers all of the USDA daily required meal pattern components for each age/grade group served in the minimum required amounts. Quantities vary by age/grade group, but components remain constant and necessary for all student meals claimed for reimbursement. Click here for more information.

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP) aim to provide all participating students, regardless of background, with the nutritious meals they need to be healthy. This includes ensuring students with disabilities have an equal opportunity to participate in and benefit from the NSLP and SBP.

Federal regulations require schools and institutions to serve meals at no extra charge to those students whose disability restricts their diet in such a way that they cannot fully participate in the food service program without some modification to the foods offered or the scheduled menu. If you believe your student needs substitutions because of a disability, please get in touch with us for further information. You must request meal modifications from the school and provide the school with a medical statement from a State Licensed healthcare professional. This medical statement must contain, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Information about the student’s physical or mental impairment that is sufficient to allow the school to understand how it restricts the student’s diet.
  • An explanation of what must be done to accommodate the student’s special dietary needs.
  • The food or foods to be omitted and recommended alternatives in case of a modified meal.

The District will also allow substitutions for non-disabled students who are unable to consume the regular meal/milk because of medical or other special dietary needs if the request is supported by a statement signed by a recognized medical authority.

Please notify your school nurse of any food allergies. All meal modifications must have a written note, submitted by a state licensed healthcare professional to the school nurse. The note must include the name of the allergen (food) and how it affects the student if exposed.

All allergy information will then be provided to the Midlakes Food Services staff from the school nurse. It is important that the school nurses receives this information first.

*Please be aware that we will need at least a day-ahead notification if the child plans on buying a school lunch the next day (for full meals only). Please be sure that we have an updated email/phone number on file in case the need arises.
