Bloomfield High School is accredited by the New York State Board of Regents.
Schedule
The school year consists of two 20-week semesters. Bloomfield High School operates on an AB rotation cycle, with many classes meeting daily and other every other day. There are 11 periods and a 30-minute lunch. An after-school activity period runs from 2:35-3:10 with a late bus on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday).
Rank and Average
Each student’s rank and average are calculated at the end of the fall and spring semesters. All courses with numerical grades contribute to the weighted rank and weighted average.
Grading
Most courses are graded on a numerical scale, with 65 as the lowest passing score and 85 indicating subject mastery. Students with an overall average of 84.5 or better are named to the Merit Roll; 89.5 or better are named to the Honor Roll; and 94.5 or better are named to the High Honor Roll. Weighted grading for rigor: AP Courses 1.05, IB Courses 1.05, Gemini Courses 1.05, and Honors Classes 1.025.
