Dear Bloomfield School Community,
I hope you had a great week! This week, we had a wonderful opportunity to experience the heart and spirit that make our school community so special.
On Tuesday night, our JV and Varsity volleyball teams hosted the annual Dig Pink fundraiser, which was an inspiring event dedicated to raising awareness and funds for cancer research. I’m excited to share that the evening was not only a great success in terms of fundraising, but also a powerful example of what we can achieve when we unite around a common cause.
From the moment the gym doors opened, the energy was incredible. Students, families, staff, and community members packed the stands, many dressed in pink to show their support. One of the most moving parts of the evening was the opportunity to honor six BCS staff members who courageously shared their stories of hope, strength, and resilience. Their experiences serve as meaningful examples for our students, and for all of us.
What stood out most was the compassion and leadership shown by our students. Our volleyball players didn’t just compete at a high level—they helped plan and run the event, welcomed guests, and sold t-shirts and raffle tickets. Their hard work and kindness were truly inspiring, and a powerful reminder of how youth leadership and empathy can make a real difference.
Events like Dig Pink go far beyond athletics, they help strengthen the connections that bind us together and highlight the caring culture we strive to foster each day in our schools. I’m incredibly proud of our student-athletes, coaches, faculty, staff, and the many volunteers who helped make the evening such a meaningful and memorable experience.
Thank you to everyone who attended or contributed to the event. Your generosity and support helped raise over $5,000 for a cause that touches so many lives. Most importantly, you helped model the values of compassion, community, and service for our students, and for one another.
As always, thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. We’re proud to celebrate the incredible things happening in our District. Please remember to let us know if you ever have any questions or ever need anything.
