Message from the Superintendent

Posted Date: 12/19/25 (05:00 PM)

Dear Bloomfield School Community,

This week has been full of highlights from concerts and athletic events to assemblies and classroom celebrations. I continue to be thankful to be in a place like Bloomfield. Here are a few items of note:

BMHS collected 922 non-perishable items; this will help several Bloomfield families - and the winning class will get a pizza party! Our bus drivers also got in on the act making donations of their own.

This week, students, faculty, and staff in both the M/HS and the ES participated in various theme days. The theme days provided everyone the opportunity to build community.

A heartfelt thank you to our Elementary School Dean of Students, Mrs. Ulmer, for her incredible positivity and dedication. Whether greeting students in the hallway, supporting classrooms, being present during recess, or offering high-fives and smiles to students on the bus loop, her energy and care are felt throughout the building.

Thank you to our music educators, Scott Hoffman, Laura Mohr, Andrea Erskine and Nicole Sterner, for their work coordinating the various holiday performances by our students. Our music program continues to be a source of pride for the District and allows our students to share their incredible talents.

Thank you to our PTSA for making our Snowball Express Holiday Gift Shops possible. Their ongoing support helps make our schools wonderful places to learn and grow.

We are grateful to Bloomfield students, Kyler Mohr and Nicolas Cologgi, for presenting at Wednesday’s Board of Education meeting. They shared their experiences in the Diesel/Heavy Equipment Repair and Operation program at the Finger Lakes Career and Technical Center, highlighting the valuable skills and training they are gaining.

Thank you to the Bloomfield Elementary faculty and staff for organizing a fantastic student assembly on Friday afternoon. It brought smiles to many faces and was a perfect way to head into the break.

Finally, as we enter the holiday season, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership and support of our schools. This time of year offers an opportunity to pause, reflect, and appreciate the many accomplishments of our students and staff.

Throughout the first half of the year, our students have demonstrated curiosity, resilience, and a commitment to learning, and none of this would be possible without the encouragement and involvement of our families. Your support at home and collaboration with our schools play a vital role in student success.

I hope the upcoming holiday break provides your family with time to rest, reconnect, and create meaningful memories together. We look forward to welcoming our students back refreshed and ready for the new year.

On behalf of the Board of Education and our entire school community, I wish you a safe, peaceful, and joyful holiday season and a happy New Year.

Andy Doell
