Message from the Superintendent

Dear Bloomfield School Community,

I hope you all have had a wonderful and productive week!

I am excited to begin this update with some exciting alumni news. Erin Howard, from the Class of 1989, recently appeared as a contestant on Jeopardy! Although she did not take home the win, she represented Bloomfield with incredible pride and excellence on a national stage. We are all so proud to celebrate her achievement!

I want to also celebrate and congratulate Scott Hoffman, our M/HS Instrumental Music teacher. Mr. Hoffman was recently recognized by Senator Pam Helming through the New York State Senate Educator Recognition Program. This honor is reserved for educators who go above and beyond in their commitment to innovation, leadership, and student success. We are so fortunate to have Mr. Hoffman as part of our school family.

Keeping with a music theme, I want to congratulate to our elementary musicians on a wonderful Spring Concert on Thursday. It’s always a joy to see our students share their talents and hard work with the community.

As a District, we continue to emphasize our Bomber Beliefs: being kind, safe, responsible, and respectful. These values were on full display recently when an Elementary student narrowly missed a personal goal in PE, and classmates immediately offered encouragement and support. Moments like this remind us that, alongside academics, our focus on character and strong family partnerships helps shape compassionate, resilient individuals.

Looking ahead, our Ceramics classes are preparing for an exciting trip to Wizard of Clay on April 15. Students will have the opportunity to tour a working studio, watch professional demonstrations, and learn about various careers in the arts. It promises to be an engaging and hands-on experience for everyone involved.

Finally, please remember that we are currently accepting nominations for the Marion S. Hallock Award. This award recognizes staff members who go above and beyond for our students, and anyone in the community is welcome to nominate a deserving employee. Teachers, aides, bus drivers, custodians, office staff, and administrators are all eligible for this honor. The recipient will be announced at graduation and will receive a unique piece of student-created artwork. If you would like to submit a nomination, please visit the BCS website by April 24, 2026.

As always, thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. Please remember to let us know if you ever have any questions or need anything.

Have a great weekend.

Andy Doell

Picture of the Week: At the Elementary Spring Concert, our 4th & 5th grade bands tried something new! They joined forces to perform a piece together, which they played beautifully.
