Bloomfield Receives Awards at RBTL Stars of Tomorrow

The cast and crew of Bloomfield’s “The Little Mermaid” received several awards at the annual Rochester Broadway Theatre League (RBTL) Stars of Tomorrow Awards. The ensemble performed at the West Herr Auditorium Theatre on Friday night, along with 47 schools.

The Bloomfield theater program was recognized for Achievement in Acting Ensemble, Production Crew, Production Design and Theatrical Storytelling. 

Additionally, Gabbie Lovejoy, Jack Day, Avery Newstead and Ty Naffziger were recognized for Achievement in a Leading Role. 

Avery Newstead was selected as a NYC Bound participant and is included in the RBTL Fan Favorite vote. Voting is available through May 20 by clicking here. Avery will compete on Thursday, May 21 at 7 p.m. at the Auditorium Theatre.

  • All Stars (voted by students) - Avery Newstead & Lilly Martin
  • Special Recognition (selected by directors) - Laney Bolan
  • Tip of the Hat (selected by judges) - Katelyn Cross, Emi Dziendziel, Allie Steinbach
