Message from the Superintendent

Dear Bloomfield School Community,

It is hard to believe October is here already. September was a very busy month and October promises to bring even more activity on our campus. As we move through this beautiful fall season, I encourage everyone to take time to enjoy the simple moments watching the leaves change, gathering with family and friends, attending a school event, or simply celebrating the accomplishments of our children.

We are grateful to have such caring and supportive families as part of our school community. We are also fortunate to have so many great people here in our District who care so deeply for our students.

Our bus drivers are a very special group who take great pride in transporting our students safely to and from school and various events. Last week one of our drivers, Ed Woodhams, demonstrated quick action when a driver ignored his flashing red lights and passed his stopped school bus on the right-hand side via the shoulder of the road as a student was exiting. Mr. Woodhams saw the car passing as the student was exiting and yelled for the student to stop. His attentiveness and quick response helped keep that student safe and out of harm’s way.

This week, Mrs. Rosdahl spent some time in Mr. Smith's kindergarten class. She observed our kindergarteners using Play-Doh to work on strengthening their hand muscles. They practiced rolling the Play-Doh into balls, pinching, twisting, and squishing it to build their fine motor skills. Then, they practiced their letters by making their names out of Play-Doh.

Mrs. Rosdahl was also impressed to see the class on the carpet as she entered. They were sharing examples of ways to demonstrate our Bomber Beliefs of being kind, respectful, responsible, and safe.

At the Homecoming kickoff assembly, the Middle/High School recognized students and staff who received the first “Bomber Way” awards of the school year. The awards are given out to students and staff who demonstrate the Bomber Beliefs.

As part of our Homecoming Week, our M/HS students showed their school spirit with themed dress-up days throughout the week. The celebration culminated in “Color Wars,” when each grade dressed in a designated color for Friday afternoon’s pep rally.

As a school community, we have been excited to celebrate Homecoming this week. Don’t forget tomorrow’s Homecoming Parade, which starts at 9:30 a.m. This year’s float theme is Board Games, and we cannot wait to see the floats our students have made.

I am always grateful for the continued support from our Bloomfield community. If you have any questions or need anything throughout the year, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
